Extremely Simple Sugarless Chocolate Milk Shake

When you can no longer be a saint, this sugar-free, fat-free, milk shake may allow you to splurge a little without knocking you off the wagon.
BONUS: Crystallized rose petal garnish recipe included


Simple Sugarless Fat-Free Chocolate Milk Shake

5 Servings, 130 calories, 25 g carbs, 1 g fat, 1-1/2 carb exchanges

Ingredients:

3 cups cold fat-free milk
1 pack chocolate fat-free, sugar-free, reduced-calorie pudding (4-serving size) br> 1-1/2 cups fat free, no-sugar-added, vanilla ice cream
Light whipped topping (optional)

Directions:

Put cold milk, pudding mix, and ice cream in blender. Cover and blend on high for 15-20 seconds or until smooth. Use whipped toping as a garnish (optional).
As a special treat, garnish with a couple crystallized rose petals (recipe follows). Keep in mind that the crystallized rose petals are made with sugar. Rose petals can be made ahead of time and stored.

 

 

Crystallized Rose Petals
4 servings, 50 calories, 13 g carbs, 0 fat, 1 carb exchange

Ingredients:

Fresh organic rose petals from one rose
2 tbsp water
2 tsp dried egg whites
¼ cup superfine sugar

Instructions:

Carefully and gently wash the rose petals. Dry gently with paper towels. Whisk water and egg whites. Brush both sides of a rose petal with the egg white mixture then dip the petal into the sugar to evenly coat (don't let it clump). Continue brushing and dipping until you have the desired amount of rose petals. Dry rose petals on a paper towel and allow to dry overnight.

Crystallized rose petals may be stored in an airtight container for no longer than a week.
